This stunning mountain range forms a natural border between France and Spain and runs from the Atlantic to the Mediterranean.  Whatever the time of year they are a glorious place to spend time.  Why not...

The Pyrénées Mountains

Visit the Pic du Midi, accessed all year round by cable car from La Mongie, at the foot of the famous Col du Tourmalet.

At the top experience the most beautiful panorama of the Pyrenees! Not only panoramic terraces, but also a museum about astronomy and the history of the Pic du Midi, a traditional mountain restaurant and gift shop.

Range free and just drive up into the mountains as the mood takes you.

Through the gentle rolling piemont and as you start to climb around every turn in the road is a wonderful view.  In the summer months when animals are up in the high pastures you will hear the distinctive mountain sound of their bells as they graze.

Take a trip on Le Petit Train Artouste, the highest train in Europe.  Originally built to transport men and machinery it now takes visitors on an hour long trip through spectacular mountain scenery.

At the top you have time to climb up the lake, uphill admittedly but gentle enough for all.  After you can treat yourself to a cold beer before the return journey.
